Bio
Sandra Contreras (Barcelona, 1975) graduated in Chemical Engineering at Universitat de Barcelona in 1998 and carried out the doctoral thesis in the field of Advanced Oxidation Processes, obtaining a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universitat de Barcelona in 2003. From 2003 to 2005 she was in charge of the management and promotion of the CEQAP Innovation Centre from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universitat de Barcelona. In 2005 she joined the ASCAMM Foundation Technology Center as European Project Manager, also conducting research, development and technology transfer to SMEs in the plastic and metal processing industry. She joined the Chemical Engineering Department at Universitat Rovira I Virgili in 2007 as Ramon y Cajal Researcher, becoming Serra-Húnter Associate Professor in 2015. Coordinator of the Master Program in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Energy since 2015. Her research interests are in water and wastewater treatment and reuse, advanced oxidation processes, heterogeneous catalysis and photocatalysis, and biomass valorisation.
